The Problem

Today, more than two billion people in the world live on less than $2 a day. According to data obtained from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), there are currently 263 million children and youth that are not in school. The majority of these are girls and these numbers keep increasing.

In many parts of the developing world, most families are faced with limited choices when it comes to educating their children. Save for the few that can afford expensive private education, the majority are left with the option of chronically underfunded schools with poor management, dilapidated facilities, and outdated education systems.
