Over 263 million children & youths are not in school
According to data obtained from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), there are currently 263 million children and youth that are not in school. The majority of these are girls and these numbers keep increasing.
Kampala is estimated to have a population of 3.500.000 inhabitants, more than half of them are living in informal settlements. Imani targets this areas where children are exposed to a wide range of risks which are undermining their development.
